The so-called “Facebook generation,” millennials are tech-savvy smartphone addicts who spend their days hunched over their screens, earbuds in, hoodies up, lost in a digital world and insulated from real human interaction … or so the story goes. The truth, however, is quite a bit different, and a lot more encouraging.
Plugged in though they may be, millennials haven’t abandoned person-to-person contact. On the contrary, there are many situations in which they prefer live interaction over digital forms of communication.
Millennials are challenging employers, brands and society to rethink the stereotypes that have come to define their generation, and meet their need for efficient, meaningful and personal communication.
